I ventured southwest to Kalamazoo on Friday to visit friends and check out the monthly Art Hop. On Saturday we attended the June Jubilee, which includes an art fair and something called the Do-Dah Parade (the inspiration of which appears to be the desire to dress ridiculous and march through streets throwing candy at children). This week's image was taken in one of the studios in Park Trades Center, a large warehouse filled with galleries and artist studios. Very cool place. Unfortunately, the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center was closed for what looked like a class or workshop, so I'm just gonna have to check that out on my next visit.
My impression of Kalamazoo... the place is as silly as it sounds.
