Today I was reminded of a photographer I first saw on Photo Eye some months back. Mark Menjivar photographs the interiors of refrigerators for his project You Are What You Eat. His photographs serve as portraits in a sense. The refrigerator is a mundane yet personal space, usually only seen by family and a few friends (depending on your living situation). It is interesting to think what this space communicates to strangers. The above is a photograph from this series (and not my personal fridge). Check out his website for more images.
